Why Every Writer Needs A Group

Well, that statement might be a bit strong, but suffice it to say that after meeting with a handful of other local novelists I think that this kind of gathering is helpful. Of course there’s nothing like sharing your passion with other poor fools with the same addiction, but more than that, it’s nice to be able to get some wisdom from other people who have already tried it, or who are trying it right now.

I’ve read a lot of advice to authors that suggest getting into a writers group, but it always felt weird to just invite myself into someone else’s circle, and how did I know that there would be enough similarities between my writing and theirs to make it worthwhile? Well, I’ve learned my lesson ladies and gents. This is as good as the hype says.

Shout out to my friend Kelly Allard for making it happen.
